Sports and Recreation

Reducing barriers for people living with disability to participate in physical activities.

Ability WA is delighted to open applications for the Sport and Recreation Scholarship 2023.

The Sport and Recreation Scholarship provides one-off grants of up to $10,000 for children between 2 and 16 years, living with a diagnosed disability or confirmed developmental delay to participate in sports or recreation activities.

The Scholarship can be used to cover registration fees, travel and accommodation expenses to participate in an event, clothing, assisted sports technology, and sporting equipment.

On 21 October 2021, Ability WA hosted a fundraising event featuring some of Australia’s most impressive Paralympians and former Australian Cricket Captain Adam Gilchrist AM. The event raised over $16,000 for the Ability WA Foundation to create this Scholarship.
