Assistance for people living with disability to pursue artistic endeavours.
Ability WA is delighted to open applications for the daniel(ink.) Art Scholarship 2023.
The daniel(ink.) Art Scholarship is open to people aged 15–30 who are living with disability and who have a passion for the arts and want to unlock their creative talent and develop confidence through artistic achievement.
There are three scholarships of up to $10,000 available. Successful applicants can use this scholarship for costs associated with university, TAFE, online courses, short courses, materials, and exhibitions; or even to kick-start an art business. The funds are here to assist if it’s in the art space and you want to grow your artistic talents.
Daniel Pavlovic is the artist behind daniel(ink.), who also happens to have cerebral palsy. He’s passionate about enabling people of all abilities to express themselves through artistic endeavours.
"I didn’t set out to be a t-shirt designer. I really wanted to be a stand-up comedian. But my friends said my act wasn’t that funny! At TAFE, I did a couple of illustrations in art class. I screen-printed one on to a tee, and suddenly my friends wanted one of those!
That’s how my t-shirt business started. It was ten years ago now, and it has given me a whole new direction in life.” Daniel said.
Whether you’re wanting to discover a new artistic passion, to unlock your talents, to build your confidence with video production, painting drawing, or ceramics, to grow your creativity or to host an exhibition of your work, this scholarship could be for you!! You may also apply for assistance with purchasing art materials.
