Customer Update 1 Feb 2021

Dear Customer,

Yesterday’s announcement of a five-day lockdown for residents in the Perth metropolitan area and the Peel and South West regions has caused concern for many people in Western Australia. I want to reassure you that the health and safety of our customers and employees remains our top priority.

Ensuring our customers have access to essential services

We are working hard to contact all our customers who have appointments this week, to ensure we meet your essential support or equipment needs.

Therapy supports will be provided via teletherapy, our workshops are open for urgent equipment repairs and your personal care will continue as usual. Our support coordination and employment services will move to virtual consultations.

You can also call us, if you are uncertain about any of your services this week or you have an urgent need, on 1300 106 106.

Staying in touch if your loved one lives with us

As part of the current restrictions, the Western Australian Government has mandated that no visitors are allowed at our homes and that our residential customers must remain at home until after 6pm Friday 5 February 2021. We are very aware of the importance of staying connected with your family members who live with us. Where possible, our Coordinators will make arrangements for online calls and connections for you. Please contact your Coordinator directly if you wish to do this.

Please be assured that our residential customers will continue to receive a high standard of care and our Opportunities program will be delivered this week in each home.

Face masks are now mandatory

Following the Western Australian government's announcement of increased COVID restrictions, face masks are now required to be worn outside the home in the Perth metropolitan area. All Ability Centre employees and any agency staff are now wearing masks while at work including our residential homes. Other PPE will be issued if required.

Thank you for your continued support. Please stay safe and well.
