NDIA Annual Pricing Review

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) recently completed its Annual Pricing Review.

As a result of the review, some of the price limits set by the NDIA increased from 1 July 2024. Making these price changes ensures appropriate pricing is in place for participants so they can continue to access high-quality supports while also receiving value for money. As a registered NDIS service provider, Ability WA will align its prices with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements.

Increases have been applied to a variety of support services and specifically Supported Independent Living (SIL), positive supports, nursing, short-term accommodation and assistance with social, economic and community participation and employment services.

The Temporary Transformation Payment (TTP) for disability support worker-related supports ended on 1 July 2024. We will be making relevant changes to our invoicing and record-keeping systems to reflect the change to support item prices.

Further, Ability WA has been charging a reduced rate of $1.90 per km for transport in an Ability WA modified vehicle.  The rate per km will increase to $2.76 per km to align with the NDIS pricing limits. This will enable Ability WA to continue to provide quality vehicle transport to customers who choose to access an Ability WA modified vehicle.  Coordinators will be in contact to discuss service plans for customers who access modified vehicles.

What does this mean for Ability WA customers?

The NDIS will apply these changes, with the exception of the Ability WA modified vehicle increase, to the remaining balance of customer funds for any period after 1 July. This increase should appear in the customer's remaining balances available on their My Place Portal.

Why is this important?

Ability WA will apply the appropriate increase to any services delivered after 1 July 2024 to the nominated supports and will adjust through increasing service bookings in line with stipulated increases.

To confirm, this increase will only be applied to any remaining balances from 1 July 2024 until a customer's plan end date. Any new plans effective from 1 July will have the price increase already applied, and nothing will change.

A complete list of NDIS pricing arrangements can be found here.

We will commence service booking updates shortly.
