Congratulations to Lucy Pearson (Customer Experience Manager) and Kim Hocking (Manager Workforce Optimisation) who have been awarded 2018 Easterseals Scholarships. The two week scholarships are offered through a partnership with Ability First Australia and Lucy and Kim will be travelling to San Francisco and Hawaii respectively later in the year.
Kim will be spending her time looking at how Easterseals runs it workforce planning and rostering models. The Hawaiian operation is very similar in size and breadth of services to Ability Centre and has recently centralised its operations.
Lucy will be based in the Bay Area in San Francisco and will focus on learning how Easterseals has used salesforce to manage its onboarding for customers and how they link to external organisations. Easterseals also has considerable expertise in supporting people living with autism.
Easterseals is one of the largest not for profit disability organisations in the USA. In 1934 the organisation launched its first Easter ‘seals’ campaign to raise money with donors placing seals on envelopes and letters. Overwhelming public support for the practice lead to the organisation adopting the name Easter Seals in 1967.
