Your generous support means that Finn can experience joy at the beach with his family!
The Joy on the Beach wheelchair is going to give Finn the independence he craves while dipping his toes in the ocean.
Finn was born with Pontocerebellar hypoplasia – an extremely rare life-limiting genetic condition that affects all areas of his development.
Finn loves to play and interact with his parents and his doting big sister. One of Finn’s favourite activities is going to the beach. He loves to play in the water, feel the fresh air on his face and wiggle his toes in the sand.
Over the last summer, Finn has become more aware of his surroundings. His reaction to the beach is profound. Dad, Darren, notices Finn looking around as if he knows he’s in for some fun. The closer he gets to the water, the more excited he becomes!
This special wheelchair is designed to roll over deep sand and go right into the ocean. Its harness can keep Finn safe while giving him the sense of movement and freedom he loves so much.
Finn’s condition is progressive. At some point, he will start losing his hard-won abilities.
