The Ability WA Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday 15 November 2023. During this meeting, it was announced that new members Melissa Haddleton and Roland Houareau were appointed to the Board of Directors.
As Chief Finance Officer at GESB, a statutory government agency that administering superannuation for public servants, Melissa Haddleton oversees finance, tax, procurement and investment operations, and brings with her a wealth of financial and corporate knowledge. Having lived experience with disability, Melissa is a keen advocate for individuals with disabilities having equal opportunities and receiving necessary support.
Roland Houareau is General Manager of Operation in the resource sector, working for INPEX's New Energy Business Australia. Roland has extensive experience in industrial, employee and stakeholder relationships, and comprehensive understanding and genuine appreciation for the community.
The Annual General Meeting saw several members of the Board of Directors re-elected as office bearers, with Dianne Ritson re-elected as Chair and Mino Intini re-elected as Treasurer; Robert Radley was elected to the role of Deputy Chair.
Two retiring Board of Director members, Ken Nylander and Melissa Northcott, were honoured for their long-standing and tireless work on behalf of Ability WA.
