The Community Aids and Equipment Program from the Department of Health provides equitable access to equipment and home modifications to people with long-term health, disability or age-related functional impairment. You can read more about it here. 

Ability WA is a CAEP service provider, which means we can support customers with advice and approvals for CAEP equipment funding.

M’s story 

M uses a manual wheelchair to foot propel around their home. However, their manual wheelchair was very old and deteriorating, and there were concerns over the reliability and safety of M’s old equipment. 

M wasn’t eligible for NDIS funding to replace his equipment, but through the funding provided by CAEP, M was able to trial several equipment options and order a replacement device. 

Now, M can stay mobile and safe in their own home with their equipment!
