Ability WA therapist nominated for HESTA Award

Ability WA’s Therapy Services team member Lisa Moshovis has been nominated for the 2024 HESTA Excellence Award.

The nomination recognises Lisa’s work as a Speech Pathologist in the field of disability and mealtimes, where she works with individuals to address challenges with swallowing and communication to enjoy mealtimes safely and comfortably.

It’s an honour to be acknowledged for her work, says Moshovis.“Every day, I aim to contribute to best practices that enhance the quality of life for those with complex needs.  Knowing my contributions are valued and making a difference inspires me to continue striving for clinical excellence.”

“It also reminds me of the real impact my efforts have on individuals and their families.”

Moshovis says she plans to use the prize money to advance research which would directly enhance care and support for individuals, such as an initiative to convert collected clinical data into Clinical Care Guidelines for critical time points.

The Australia-wide HESTA Awards recognise health professionals in the aged care, allied health, community services, and disability services sectors. The 2024 HESTA Excellence Award has a prize pool of up to $60,000.
