Cameron’s story

Cameron’s employment journey

Meet Cameron

Cameron began working with the Employment Services team where he secured a job as a full-time Facilities Officer at our Central Hub in Coolbinia.

Having demonstrated workplace readiness along with a proven employment history, Cameron wished to explore career opportunities in the creative sector to utilise his skills in design and illustration.

Cameron then attended a formal interview to present his design and illustration portfolio and was offered a marketing internship.

This internship provided opportunities for Cameron to experience a corporate environment, working within a team and working to professional standards all while being able to demonstrate his illustration talents to create various promotional materials!

"Cameron’s story is a great example of what people with disabilities bring to a workplace,” says Claire Marsh, General Manager of Employment and Community.

“In turn, Cameron has been able to gain experience in a corporate environment with all that entails. And, of course, he can now grow his creative folio and demonstrate that he can deliver creative work in a professional environment.”
