Start your next chapter with Your Pathway to Independence

At Ability WA, we know that moving out of home is a big deal. There’s so much to consider, with everything from location through to having the right support system in place when you need it.
That’s where Pathways to Independence comes in. Designed for ages 18 – 30, this coordinated pathway helps to lead you towards a home that’s right for you, complete with support to help you grow your practical life skills.

No more burning the toast.
You got this.

We get it. Everyday tasks can sometimes feel daunting.

That’s why Your Pathway to Independence is designed to provide you with practical support to support your goals. Depending on your individual needs and NDIS funding, this could include:

  • Home and living support: Helping you to get settled and find a routine in your new living space.
  • Therapy and capacity building: Allowing you to develop the skills to live independently and achieve your goals.
  • Everyday life skills: Everything from cooking meals to setting (and sticking to) a household budget.
  • Employment pathways: Support to help you prepare for the workplace, including working closely with you to find a job that suits your needs and helping you thrive.
  • Community participation: Building your confidence in creating connections and relationships outside your home environment.

Finding your path.
You got this.

When you’re ready to begin your journey, our team is here to help you. We’ll start by getting to know you – your goals, your needs and what you’re looking for in a home – and then use these to help you explore your options.
From here, we’ll help you prepare for the move, settle into your new home, then continue to build your skills for long-term independence.
You got this.
