Positive Behaviour Support customer services

Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team comprises of experienced allied health professionals from a range of backgrounds including psychology, occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work and community services. We aim to match the right PBS practitioner to meet individual customer’s needs. Our PBS service is evidence-based and our PBS practitioners work with the customer in a person-centred manner, supporting their personal goals.

Positive Behaviour Support services include: 

  • Person-centred goal setting and action planning
  • Functional behavioural assessments
  • Co-designing a behaviour support plan (BSP) and personalised day-to-day plan with customers and their support network
  • Training and coaching in the implementation of the plans
  • Monitoring and reviewing plans
  • Supporting customers’ skill building goals
  • Recommendations for environmental changes at home, school / work or in the community
  • Supporting customer’s human rights and reducing restrictive practices

Positive Behaviour Support consultancy services

Ability WA has a large, well-established Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) service that commenced in 2016 and utilises a person centred, best practice approach. Our team comprises of experienced allied health professionals from psychology, occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work and community services backgrounds.

In our 2025 NDIS audit, Ability WA received exceptional feedback for our PBS services, describing them as “outstanding”, “a leader in this space”, noting PBS customer feedback as “glowing”.

Due to the continued growth of our PBS team, we are now offering a variety of consultancy services to external PBS practitioners and organisations, including education, supervision and upskilling.
