Psychology
Our Psychology services are provided by qualified Psychologists who are all provisionally or fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). They provide quality mental health care, recovery planning and psychological services to you. Our Psychologists work closely with you and your support network to develop clear person-centred goals and intervention planning that is tailored to your individual needs and circumstances. Psychologists use various psychological assessment tools to assess and identify the mental health, behavioural and emotional concerns that may be preventing you from working towards your goals. An individualised, evidence-based intervention plan is then developed in collaboration with you to effectively break down these barriers and facilitate your goal progression.
Psychology services at Ability WA are suitable for many ages including children from approximately 7 years old, adolescents and adults. For one-to-one psychology sessions, it is essential that you have the vocabulary and means to communicate, (either through speech, interpreter or Augmentative and Alternative Communication- AAC).
Our Psychology services can be accessed through NDIS plans with capacity-building funding, under Improved Daily Living Skills. The service aims to assist you, and those that support you, within a recovery-orientated framework to empower you to achieve the best possible version of personal and emotional wellbeing.
