Ability Centre supports more time to transition to NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework

Chief Executive Officer Jacquie Thomson today supported the decision by the Minister for Disability Services, Stephen Dawson, to defer the implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Quality and Safeguarding Framework in Western Australia until 1 December 2020.

“We are unequivocal in our support for introducing the Framework. It will underpin our commitment to providing high quality supports and a safe environment for our customers and reinforce our existing policies.

“Given the operating challenges of supporting our vulnerable customers through the COVID-19 pandemic, the delayed implementation will give us more time to adjust and refine our training program, embed a number of new policies and business changes required to comply with the Commission's additional reporting requirements.”
